Meet Tessa – If you’re looking for a cat that’s great company, loves to be with you all the time, that talks to you and loves to be talked to, then you will love Tessa and she will love you right back!!
Tessa came to RRR from a terrible hoarding situation and was so scared that she hid behind a desk for days, poor baby. It took her a while to get comfortable and feel safe, but that’s all history now! Now she explores the house, loves to watch birds that come to the feeder, does zoomies, and loves to hang out with you as you watch TV. She IS a shy girl, but once she knows you and knows it's ok, she is all over you, climbing, purring and looking for snuggles. She loves to be talked to and be stroked, and after she's had enough attention, she lies down and presses her body against foster's leg - she loves to just be close. She’s VERY sweet and gentle, and will be a terrific companion.
Tessa appreciates her alone time too, like most cats. She is still intimidated by some other animals though, and her best forever home will be one where she is the only pet. She's not hostile or aggressive with others, just overwhelmed. Same with kids - they're loud and unpredictable, and can be frightening. This may all change over time as she grows more confident. A quiet home and a calm and patient adopter will work best for her. She would be a terrific companion for a senior or someone living alone who is home often. It's hard to capture black cats in pics, but she is a beautiful girl with gorgeous eyes and a cute little nose, but you need to meet her and see - pictures don't do her justice!
