This handsome man is Salem. Salem was found by a Good Samaritan on the streets of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey in early August. He was super sweet and affectionate, and extremely hungry for food and attention! She reached out to our rescue and asked us to help - and we just had to say yes! Look at how relaxed and happy he is to be rescued!
This is the sad part.... our handsome man Salem does have a microchip. We did get his owners contact information. We called and left messages... but only heard crickets. Not a single word. This poor guy was clearly let outside to fend for himself without any regard for his safety and health. When he was brought into his foster home, he immediately settled in and enjoyed pets, playtime, and relaxing on the cat tower in his foster room. He is completely litter box trained, and is very chatty when it comes to feeding times! We are so glad to help him find a second chance at a forever home!
Salem likes Meow Mix dry kibble, and enjoys 1/2 a can of Fancy Feast wet food twice a a day. He is a little on the thin side since he was left outside without food or shelter, so we are giving him more food to help bulk him up. He was seen by our rescue vet and it has been noted that the is neutered and is negative for FiV/FeLV. He received his rabies vaccination and is getting his FVRCP boosters. He is currently on medications for parasites, and was treated for fleas/ticks/mites.
