This handsome and sweet-as-pie gentleman, Fozzie, came to our rescue all the way from Phillipsburg, New Jersey! He was being fed in a friendly neighborhood when one good Samaritan decided to bring him in and have him checked out. He was so social and friendly, they thought that someone must be missing their sweet pet! Unfortunately, he has no chip and no one stepped up to claim him 🥺. We agreed to take him on in foster to help him find the loving home this lover cat deserves.
Fozzie is a lover boy to the MAX!🥰 He enjoys snuggling up to you in bed, and will knead and suckle on the blanket to show you just how happy, safe, and loved he feels. If you are in the room with him, he will chirp at your for an invitation to come up and receive pets. He has such soulful eyes that emote all of the contentment he feels by just having a human companion around. This sweet soul deserves a home where he will be loved and revered as the glorious sweetheart he is! We believe he is at least part Norwegian Forest Cat, based on the long luxurious mane and the tufts of fur that stick out in between his paws.
In his first placement in our rescue, it became clear that dogs make Fozzie anxious, so he was moved along to a foster with only cats. While he is completely unbothered by the presence of other cats, he would need the right time and pace for introductions to make sure that he and another cat will get along. This lovely man would be purrfectly content being an only cat, so that is our primary recommendation for him.
Fozzie has a large patch of fur missing on his flank from a previous skin infection that developed while he was a stray 🥺 that was promptly treated and is growing back fur already! Fozzie also has Feline Herpes Virus, which is a viral infection to the eyes and nasal passages. This virus in INCREDIBLY common (97% of cats have the virus) and is typically only symptomatic during periods of stress or other illnesses. He is being treated with Terramycin ointment, and as long as symptoms are controlled, there is little-no-risk of transmission to other cats. *This virus will not spread to dogs or humans.Â
