Valerie was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky, where she would surely have been euthanized. We're so glad to have brought her north where she will have a chance at a new life!! <p>
She's so adorable, we did find a foster for her initially, but although she tried her best to make friends and was gentle, their cat did not appreciate all her fine qualities (go figya') so it's time for her to go! Fosters' dog loves her though, and lets little Val climb all over her - adorable!!! <p>
Valerie is a healthy and energetic pup who loves her monkey and banana toys, and can play all day with them. And then she crashes and recharges. She loves her people most of all, and follows foster around the house, fascinated by absolutely everything being done. Evenings are for sitting at night on the couch watching tv with mom - she's a snuggler and just wants to be your lap dog :). <p>
House training is a work in progress - she's about 75% there, which is pretty good for a youngster! She sits by back door when she needs to go out. She is crate trained, and although she may bark/cry a bit initially, she settles in nicely to sleep. Heads up though! She's a notorious shoe klepto! She doesn't chew on them or anything though, just plays with them! Hide those Jimmy Choo's!! She doesn't mind baths, and walks pretty well on a leash, although loud street noises will give her a scare. If you not fast enough she starts to hop, which is kind of funny to watch. She is well behaved and will sit as you leash her. She's good in the car too, and loves to be in the passenger's lap. <p>
Valerie is spayed and fully vaccinated. She'll do best in a home with kids, activity and people who are home a lot. She's a sweet little snuggler who loves her people and will be a wonderful forever dog. <p>
