Tincy was brought over from Kosovo on 2/12/2025 by our rescue. He spent some of his early life on the streets, but was certainly somewhat socialized and is very food motivated. Once you earn his trust, you only will need to speak his love language of treats and food. He was in a shelter for two years while in Kosovo, which is a little unusual for some of our overseas saves, but he is certainly ready to find his forever home.
Tincy is house-broken and will signal when he needs to go out. When he goes outside, he likes to walk around and take it all in, but ultimately he prefers to hang around on the couch or on a snugly dog bed. On leash, he is making great progress and is doing really well walking like the little gentleman that he is. No pulling and very calm, cool, and collected. He does have a slight paw defect, which slows him down the tiniest bit. At night, he sleeps in a dog bed in the foster's bedroom, and he knows it's time to rest when the foster family gives him that cue. Crates are not a need for him, as he has already did his time being in a tiny space while in the shelter for 2 years in Kosovo.
Tincy only eats dry kibble, so no need for wet food at the moment. He is learning to sit with treats, and appears to be trainable with his level of food motivation. With toys, he just adores the stuffy ones! He will shake them around, growl playfully, and generally have a grand old time. He is good with chewer toys as well (such as Nyla bones). Being that Tincy is a herding breed, he has a high prey drive, so he would not do well in a home with cats or other small animals that are free roaming.
On a lazy afternoon, Tincy will either find the nearest dog bed or will climb up on a chair and will sleep for HOURS. Once he learns to trust, he will follow his person around the house, but is not under-foot. He is mindful of his space, and will just keep you in his line of sight rather than being directly attached to your hip.
Tincy will seek pets by booping you with his little cold, wet nose! He is learning to trust and LOVES attention so much! He will also wait for you to get up in the morning instead of waking you - what a gem!!
