Tank and a few of his siblings were rescued from a terrible hoarding situation in PA - we stepped in to help, and give these pups a second chance.
As you might guess from his 'generous' physique, Tank is the consummate couch potato. He is a calm, mellow, sweet and very affectionate boy who is a happy guy, following his foster around the house, and getting pets and snuggles from foster mom. He LOVES to be near you, on you, or so close to you he gives mom "flat tires" when she walks in front of him. All he wants is love. He's great with kids, and other dogs, and although he's never met a cat, we have a feeling he would love them too.
Tank loves to be in the house, and gets anxious when away from the house too long - that's the only time he pulls on his leash. This behavior will diminish as he becomes more secure. He does not play with toys at this time - none of his rescued siblings do - they don't know what toys are. When people visit, he will walk over to be petted and check them out, but doesn't bark. (This is NOT a watchdog - someone could get licked to death though...) When he sees someone new, his tail starts and doesn't stop - he loves people. He's very food motivated and eats very fast so for now foster uses a puzzle bowl to slow him down a bit. This comes from past food uncertainty, but he shows NO aggression with food, or under any circumstances.
This huggable little pudgeball would be a great dog for seniors or people who are not very active and have some time to pamper and give him affection. He's a little 51 lb teddy bear, and happy to just hang out at home with you. He's not going to be your hiking buddy, but you'll ALWAYS feel loved!! Another mellow dog would be ideal for him to pattern after. Come and meet Tank - he's all the love you'll ever need!
