Spring is a 8-12 month old, 19 pound, short haired, spayed female daschund/rat terrier mix. She is black with small white highlights on her chest and toes. She is in excellent health, heartworm negative and up to date on all immunizations.
Folks, to be honest, Spring is CUTE. 100000% the cutest dog this foster has ever fostered. Guaranteed to win every "cutest dog" contest. She is "Miss Charisma" and "Princess Charming" all the way.
Spring gets along very well with dogs and humans. She is not protective of food, water, toys, space or anything else.
She is crate trained and sleeps there peacefully all night. She goes into her crate willingly when offered a dog treat (Milk Bone). Even though she is a small dog, her foster recommends a large crate because it is more comfortable. She eats her meals in her crate.
We have not tested Spring with children or non-canine species. But we are confident that she will do well with older children because she is so gentle and affectionate.
Spring is not housebroken, but is learning, and she enjoys walks, and walks well on a leash, although she is young and curious, so sometimes she has her own ideas about where she wants to walk.
Spring is very social. She bonded quickly with her human foster caregiver and made friends quickly with the foster's own 3 adult dogs. She enjoys playing with other dogs and humans, or just hanging out with her human friend. She needs a dog sibling, and/or a human who can spend large amounts of quality one-on-one time with her.
She loves to cuddle and will enjoy sitting with you on a couch or easy chair while you read or watch TV.
She has the normal amount of energy for her age, so she needs a fenced yard or frequent leashed walks. Not an escape artist. She does well outside in good weather, but prefers to be inside if the weather is stormy or cold.
She is emotionally calm for her age. She does not have any bad habits like excessive barking. Her foster has not allowed her much unsupervised time to roam freely inside the house (because she is not housebroken), so we are unable to evaluate whether she might chew inappropriate things if she is left alone by herself.
Spring is a warm, caring, loving soul who will repay all of the love that you give her and be a wonderful addition to any loving family.
From her foster in Alabama: 'Spring is a young adult, female, black and white, small dog. Possibly terrier mix, maybe a bit of dachshund or beagle in her. We bonded immediately. She is a very sweet, calm, affectionate dog.'
