Let's get Soldier the twilight he deserves! This handsome man was dumped in a rural high-kill shelter down South. Basically a zero chance of getting out of there alive. He's loving, happy, grateful, kid-friendly, and other-dog friendly. He's also on death row How could we say no to that face?! He is now loving life in a temporary foster home while he waits for his happily-ever-after.
Soldier clearly understands what it means to be in a house - as he is fully housebroken, crate trained (although the foster says he doesn't really need it), and walks very well on a leash. If he gets distracted on walks, he is easily redirected when he starts to follow his nose. He really enjoys his walks, but occasionally he will get a little spunky if a squirrel runs right in front of him and has started to chase them in the yard - he still has his youthful curiosity!
Soldier currently eats Purina ProPlan Complete Essentials, and enjoys enriching play with a tug toy such as a rope. He is approachable with new people, and has enjoyed meeting his foster's neighbors! This guys favorite daily schedule with the foster family is to play - snuggle- nap- repeat! He is a first class snuggler! When he first sees you when you arrive home, he will bounce up and down on his front legs to demonstrate how excited he is! He stays close to his people and will follow them wherever they go. He also snores - how charming is that!
Soldier had a baseball size growth on his back leg. Our rescue had it removed, and thankfully it was benign. He has scars all over his body. He's been royally beat up and has all the signs of once having been used as a bait dog. Now that he is safe in his foster home, he needs to find his forever family. He is neutered, UTD on vaccinations, and is ready to fill your heart and your home with love!
