Savannah came to us through an organization that rescues dogs from Kosovo, along with her buddy Apollo (also available to adopt together or separately). She's come a long distance to find her forever home, and will be a great addition to her new family.
Savannah has come a long way towards trusting people again, but is a shy girl who isn't used to some things we take for granted, like walking on a leash or going up stairs. Everything is new, but she's picking up new things up every day and coming along really beautifully. She's receiving leash training, and although a bit nervous, she's getting the hang of it! She loves playing with Apollo and her foster's dog, and loves her squeaky balls and playing in the yard. She's quite underweight though, and needs to build up her energy and gain some weight. She's crate-trained, but loves hanging out and being close to her humans.
She's a very sweet and affectionate girl and wants to make friends - for example, an RRR rep (who hadn't met Savannah) went to visit her at her foster home, and she ran out of her crate and kissed her right on the face! After spending some time with her, rep came back and said "...she is the sweetest dog I ever met!"
Savannah will be good with other submissive dogs, who will provide guidance on how to be a dog, and be a friend. She hasn't been tested kids or cats, but should do well if they are friendly and understand boundaries. All she really needs is patience in training, and a mellow household. (AND some fattening up!!)
