I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Koda (aka Popeye)

We're happy to tell you that Koda (aka Popeye) has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Popeye is a 7 month old, 25 pound, neutered male, short haired, tan-colored hound mix. We rescued him from an animal control shelter in rural Alabama. When we rescued him, his left eye had been badly injured. We took him to a specialist, who said that he was blind in that eye and it could not be saved, so our vet surgically removed it.

Other than that, he is in perfect health and is up to date on all immunizations. The vet ophthalmologist examined his right eye and assures us that it is in perfect condition. The missing eye does not seem to bother him.

☀️Crate trained! Put a treat in the crate and he’ll go right in.
☀️LOVES walks, but hasn’t mastered the art of walking gently on leash
☀️Zero resource guarding
☀️Dog friendly
☀️Not yet cat or kid tested
☀️Very social and playful- likes to play rough and tumble

Popeye is still very much a puppy. He is friendly, affectionate and loves people.
He loves to play and cuddle with his human.
Because of his age and energy level, a safe, fenced yard is a must.

He will be happiest if he has a person(s) who can spend lots of high-quality time with him and/or at least one full time dog friend who has an energy level similar to his.

Popeye is really a very sweet, loving soul who will be a wonderful addition to any home!!
