I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Pluto

We're happy to tell you that Pluto has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Gotta' love those EARS!!!

Pluto came to us from a high-kill shelter in the South, where he didn’t have a prayer. He's living his best life now with his foster, and is ready for his forever home. He's a gentle, easy, pretty mellow guy and would be great for anyone, from an elderly home to a young family.

When he was transported north to our rescue, and it was found he had a cancerous growth. It was removed a few months ago and Pluto is now cancer FREE! Unrelated, he also has a bit of a limp from old break that didn't heal properly. Future surgery/PT is an option for his new family, but it doesn't cause him any pain and would be considered optional. As a result, he is not a hiking dog and not good for very long walks. Luckily, at 13 lbs, if he gets tired, you can just scoop him up! He's great with everyone - his foster has cats and other dogs, and they all do very well together - no problems at all! He's great on a leash and well-behaved on a walk. His foster describes him as "super easy and adorable!" He's fully housebroken, neutered, and completely up-to-date on vaccinations.

Pluto is a people dog who loves nothing more than to be in your lap. He sleeps in the bed with his foster and loves the bed - it's his "home base"... He's a lovely and gentle dog, and he barks and talks to you when you come home, When strangers come over, he will bark at company initially but then settle down for some serious petting. Foster's friends come over just to pet him, and he adores it.  Pluto will do fine with older children (12+) that understand boundaries and how to treat a pet. He does have the beginnings of cataracs, but can still see and does just fine.

From his current foster:  “Pluto is just a cuddle machine who cozies up to you at night with all the love in the world. He shows immense love for his humans and no one is more fun to binge watch TV with than snuggly pets loving Pluto.”
