Olive, along with her brother Polo, were RRR puppies when they were adopted by their owner. Their family has had changes and are surrendering both of them. They are a bonded pair and we’d LOVE to have them adopted together, but we know that may not be possible.
Olive is a beautiful, active and lively girl who's deepest desire is the be in your world and close to you. She bonds beautifully and loves to be with her person as much as possible. She's very curious and always up for checking new things out. She LOVES to play fetch and run around. She and her brother play together beautifully, keep each other occupied and tire each other out at night. They both sleep on the bed with foster, and are not crated at night time.
She is a very sweet girl and shows lots of affection. When foster mom comes home, Olive brings her presents, like a ball or a bone to welcome her. Isn't that SWEETEST?
Olive's leash training is a work in progress. She tends to wander and stops to check things out, and occasionally barks. Olive doesn't do well with drives in the car. She has gotten sick before. We think it's nerves - she associates the car with leaving and is afraid she's going back. This should fade as she realizes she is not going back to her past. When company comes, she'll come up to them in a submissive crouch until she is comfortable and sees no threat.
Olive is food motivated and is a smart girl who catches on quickly. Foster has trained them to go into crate while foster is eating, which is wonderful. She knows the following commands: Off (off the sofa), Go to your room (crate), Out, Are you hungry?, Do your business, Stay (a little), Sit. She's eager to please, and if she gets reprimanded, she tucks her head down in your neck to say she's sorry.
Olive will do best in a home with active, affectionate, patient people who will play with her and spend time with her.
