Lukey is the perfect dog for someone who does not want to go through ALL of that training! His owner passed away, so our rescue stepped up and took him into foster to help him find a new forever. He gets along with foster sibling, and is comfortable being around them, but isn't exactly playful. The foster dog is twice the size of Lukey, but that doesn't scare him!
If you are looking for a people-dog, Lukey is exactly what you are asking for!! He is very affectionate and loves snuggles and kisses. He will join his foster mom on the couch at the end of a long day and want to just love on her! He is also very calm - he doesn't get overly active throughout the day. He does like to play, and he loves squeaky toys the most - whenever he sees his foster mom he will bring the toy to her to show her, especially when she comes downstairs in the morning. He is scared a bit when the foster turns on the lights because she has a remote control for her smart outlets, and he just can't wrap his puppy brain on how these lights are turning on when no one is near them! He also is a little spooked by the sounds of the dishwasher and will jump around when it's making noises.
He has had marked a few times in the house very early in the morning, but alerts when he does it right after to let them know it's time to clean up! We believe he is just showing us that his bladder is on a strict daily schedule. Otherwise, he is house-broken and will go out to the bathroom outside without issue the rest of the day. He has a crate available to him, and he uses it at mealtimes. He will also go in on his own to lay down, but the foster does not currently close the door on the crate when he goes inside because he does appear to panic a bit. Lukey is very food motivated, and will closely observe you at meal times. He won't try to steal anything, he will just give you puppy dog eyes for a bite of your delicious dinner.
Lukey has really soulful eyes, adorable freckles, and the sweetest little turned-out paws!
