Little Baby Lamby has quite the story. Found dying in a landfill in Kosovo, some good Samaritans discovered her and nursed her back to health. Today, she is in foster at our rescue, physically healed, and ready to find her forever home! She settled in beautifully and has learned exactly how to be a "house pet." She is fully vaccinated and is spayed.
When it comes to feeding time, Lamby gets super excited to go into her crate and chow down on her meals! Her diet is currently Blue Buffalo large breed puppy - 3/4 a cup twice a daily. The foster has been working hard on getting her weight up, as she is underweight and needs to eat quite a bit. She also benefits from a slow feeder (puzzle feeder) as she adjusts to having a reliable diet. She is a BIG little girl - with the most adorable large paws, which means she will likely be in the range of 60 lbs (medium to large). She is very teachable and will be a magnificent pet with all of her snuggly-ness.
When considering playtime, Lamby loves her Lambchop stuffy so much! She also enjoys a rope toy as she still has her adult teeth coming in and is a chewer. She doesn't show a specific interest for rubber toys, but will enjoy a Kong with a treat. She is learning how to play with a ball, and will need time to get down fetch. She is super trainable, so this can become part of the joy of adopting her and watching her blossom into a family pet!
Lamby is great on leash - she is is clocking a sub-20 minute mile without any issues trotting along. Absolutely no pulling or fighting against the leash! In the car she is a bit nervous but is very patient and will sit still and ride along. She is nearly housebroken, as the foster has only had a few accidents and they are not the norm. Lamby is very teachable and will learn to go out without any issue. She knows how to sit and wait - so she would likely be an all-star in any further obedience training. She is SUPER smart and she would be very happy with jobs to do!
She sleeps in her crate overnight, and she does well. When go you to bed and she is in the crate, she will get a bit sad that you're leaving, but she will calm herself quickly and will sleep through the night. She is an alarm for anything that is amiss around the home and will give a nice loud bark as warning (fox in the garden, etc.). This is a natural instinct for her suspected breed.
On a lazy Sunday afternoon, Lamby is happy to play for a bit to tucker her our, but once she is settled she will snuggle in and sleep next to you on the floor or on the couch if she is allowed. This girl is a true lover pup and will be an excellent companion to her human family.
