A 9-year-old Great Pyrenees, Lacey was rehoused to the basement of a kind woman's relative. Unaware that her cousin was an alcoholic and hoarder, Lacey was discovered in the basement among a disaster when the cousin recently died. The house was filled to the rafters, full of flies and filth. It is being condemned by the state. We have to help Lacey - this stunning girl deserves so much better…
Amazingly, Lacey is still a VERY sweet beautiful girl and very friendly despite her rough life. She was kept in a basement for a good portion her life and yet is still as sweet as can be. This is the miracle of pets.
She was never walked, and pretty much did what she had to do in the house. However, there was a period when they dog was temporarily taken care of when the owner was ill. Once Lacey knew to expect her each day she waited and went outside, So at one point she obviously had been trained and will quickly get “back in the groove”. There does not seem to be any obvious health issues with her other than being a little slow on the stairs, but she will be seeing a vet presently.
This is such a pitifully sad situation but Rosemarie’s Rescue Ranch is determined to get this baby her forever home. She now has a foster, who will be patiently teaching her how to be a dog again. She's a smart girl and eager to please - we expect great progress in the next few weeks.

While we would love to discuss our rescues with each of you individually, we just don't have the bandwidth to accommodate. You will be contacted directly should your application be an approved match. Please be as detailed as needed in your "about us" section to help us make an informed decision on next steps.
