I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Kelsie

We're happy to tell you that Kelsie has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Kelsie's photos really speak for themselves - what a cutie-pie! Those ears!

14 lb. Kenzie was surrendered to a local shelter by the only owners he knew for his entire life of 12 years. We were told by the family their reason was because they "may possibly move next year".... <sigh>. He was stressed and scared in the shelter, so we offered to step in and identify a foster home for him. He's never lived with another pet before, but seems to be agreeable (or at least indifferent) to some other dogs, which is good. He's very good with kids - foster has a 3 year old and they do very well.

Now that he's in a foster home, we can see he's very friendly with his people, and bonds quickly. He LOVES his walks - foster takes him on a 1 mile walk in the morning, and again in the evening. He has no problem keeping up and just loves his time outside, and does run around. Foster says if she had to guess, she would have thought he was about 5 years old - not too shabby for 12 years old!!

He's a smart little guy, and knows Sit, Paw, Lay Down and Crate. He sleeps in a crate at night (in foster's BR) and is crated in the day when alone. He's not thrilled, but he does it, and never has an accident. He's 100% housebroken too! He's an active boy, loves to play and learning to love toys, but is also a world class napper. If you listen, you might just hear a little doggy snore after a big walk.... :)
He sometimes like to snuggle, but also has an independent streak and can be on his own. He follows foster in the house, but also entertains himself. He likes to cuddle and lay with his people. He has no aggression with food at all. He does bark briefly sometimes when he meets new people, but settles when he sees no threat and then wants to be pet.

Kelsie is a show-stopper who makes everyone stop and say "Awwww!". He'll do well in most any environment and he'll be a great addition to any household.
