Kahlua and her brother Zuri were 2 of 4 dogs Rosemarie's Rescue Ranch was able to rescue on a recent trip to Aruba. I was there, and can tell you first hand, these dogs were EXCEPTIONALLY well behaved and were the hit of the plane! SO completely mellow, never barked, always looking for pets and snuggles, open to anything. I have never seen puppies so young be so accepting and calm.
Kahlua is VERY friendly, loves to give and get kisses, doesn't bark, and is completely housebroken and crate-trained. Her coat is soft as silk, and those doe eyes take you in. She enjoys playing, and her favorite toys are....leaves! She thinks they are toys from the heavens just for her and is so fun to watch! She's been known to play hide and seek with items like sneakers, but doesn't hurt or damage them. She's not destructive around the house at all, and is safe to leave in the house. She is crated to sleep at night though, to signal it's time for bed and to wind down. She likes her crate, and retreats to it during the day as well at times - it's her safe spot for quiet time. She shadows you around the house to see what's going on next, and is always very affectionate - she wants to be a lap dog. As noted, she is very calm for a puppy, very relaxed with a terrific temperament. She has no aggression, and no food aggression at all. She IS food motivated though, so foster is finding her easy to train. She knows Sit, and her training is a work in progress.
She really loves to be outside and walks well on a leash -she hardly pulls. When visitors come, she will hang back, but only because foster has 2 big dogs that crowd her out. Otherwise she would come forward to say hello, but will not bark. She has not met any cats, but seems to have no prey drive towards other small critters in the yard, so we are leaning towards yes for cats (but should be tested.)
Kahlua is low maintenance and an absolute delight - she's so happy to see you at the end of the day, and so happy just to be with you. Her best next family? Really could be any home, but she will thrive with a brother or sister, and loves the attention of kids. Come meet her - the description just doesn't do her justice!!
