I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Precious

We're happy to tell you that Precious has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Precious is a special girl. While we don't have that much info on her background, she was a stray that never should have been a stray. She loves people and is very social. As a result, she is unfamiliar with some things we associate with just being a dog in a house. When she arrived she really didn't know how to play with toys and chews. She's catching on now, and also just starting to catch on to fetch. (Yes! You have to bring it back too!!) Stairs and doors were also strange and mysterious, but she's ok now, although she still thinks they're a little shady and prefers to do it together... ;)

Precious LOVES to run around at the dog park, or sometimes foster brings her to the tennis courts to romp around the gated area. She's very smart, and already knows sit, stay, no, her name, and understands the basics. Foster thinks she could be trained to do an agility course if adopters were inclined. She is 100% housebroken, and in the last 2 days has learned to sit by the door when she needs to go out. She's improving on the leash each day - she was pulling but now trained to do better. She doesn't chase other critters, so is probably good with cats. Precious is really learning new things every day, and learning to be a dog. She has NO aggression at all, and while she is food motivated for training, she's not a food nudge. She's wonderful in the car, and foster can leave her to run into the store to grab something and she doesn't panic.

When company comes over, she loves it! She jumped once but was told no and she stopped. She's very curious and will cautiously check them out, and gain trust. When she's been outside and comes in, foster tells her to "clean her feet" and she does, then rolls around on the towel! Loves to roll around and rub her face on things, and falls off the couch. (see video) She sure is goofy, but in a calm way indoors. In the evenings, she cuddles on the couch with foster, and at bedtime sleeps on the bed with foster. The door is open and she can get out of her crate, but goes in some times on her own. Heads Up!! Ugg Alert - she collects them and brings them to bed (see pic). She doesn't hurt them, just collects them. :) Precious will fit in anywhere - she's a great dog and so grateful to have people around her. She'll be a great forever dog!
