I've found my furever family!

Dewey the Doxi is a 13 year old owner surrender, who was given to us when his owner became terminally ill.  He was very well cared for and loved dearly, and we are determined to find him a new loving home.

Our experienced foster describes him simply as "delicious and delightful!"  He is a sweet, loving, amiable dog who gets along with everyone, even foster's 9 (yes, 9!) other dogs who range from 9 to 90 lbs.  When meeting new people, he is initially reserved, as all this is new to him, then he's in love and will follow you everywhere!  He does fine on a leash and he follows along nicely.  Foster also can let him out in her fenced-in yard and he'll go, do his biz, and come right back.  He's SUPER easy going and super smart!

He IS 13, but doesn't act old at all!  He runs, plays with toys, goes up the stairs, and is really in good shape.  Doxi's can live a long life, and he has no issues at all!  In the evenings he loves to cuddle with his foster mom and thrives on the affection and attention.  (He even kisses the other dogs!!) He does bark some, but only when he needs something.  He doesn't bark randomly, and shows NO aggression at all in any circumstance.

As noted, he is neutered, vaccinated and housebroken, as well as pee pad trained.  He IS crate-trained, but really hates the crate, and if foster didn't have 9 dogs she wouldn't crate him at all - he's just not destructive.

He's great with kids too, but may be a bit old for toddlers and roughhousing.  He would do beautifully with a senior, a retiree or a homebody who needs a companion.  He's really a terrific little guy - come meet Dewey!!
