Meet sweet 8-year-old Cooper. This poor guy's owner passed away, leaving him with no place to go but into the loving arms of our rescue.
Cooper is amazing on leash, walking and moves on from any stops with a quick verbal command. Cooper knows to sit before leashing when given the command as well. He doesn't demonstrate much interest in toys, so walks are a staple for his entertainment and exercise. He is CRAZY for walks! He will go in the back yard if we are out there, but you can really tell that leash walks are his true passion. His life is really a cycle of walk-sleep-walk-sleep (repeat), with some food breaks in between. He doesn’t even need to go to potty on many of the walks, he does it for the love of the walk. He is housebroken, and has no need for a crate and therefore is not crate trained.
He eats The Farmers Dog twice daily, but does not like an audience when eating. He loves getting a treat, but will take it with him into another room to eat it. He prefers his food bowl in a quieter corner of the home as well. When it comes to socialization, the fosters haven’t had anyone come into the home with Cooper, but they noted that he hasn’t reacted to the mail or delivery workers who drop off items on their porch. He is also calm when his fosters comes home individually and he greets them at the door when they do come home together.
On a lazy Sunday at home with the foster family, you can find Cooper sleeping on the same couch next to them. He isn’t a lap dog, but he is a shadow dog that prefers to be in the same room and close proximity. He also adores chin and body scratches!
Cooper is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. Lets give this guy a second happily forever after!
