A Very-Special *Special-Needs* Alert

️
We brought CharliePotato, the purebred Corgi we recently pulled from the City of Passaic Animal Shelter, for an evaluation with Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Miller of Eclipse Specialty Hospital. Charlie has crippled legs, and we wanted to try to find out what's going on inside his tiny little legs. Sadly what we discovered was a catastrophic injury that likely occurred several months prior. He was likely either thrown out of a moving vehicle, or aggressively thrown in some manner. Likely a backyard-breeder scenario in the inner city with a purebred who's scared of other dogs. However, today he's a very happy boy. He doesn't appear to be in pain anymore, and surgery isn't a solution at this time.
CharliePotato is able to scoot around and lead a normal life, as long as there isn't too much walking. CharliePotato will be just fine living a sedate, sedentary life with his very own couch-potato-human. CharliePotato will need a fenced-in-yard, as long walks aren't in the cards for him. He will be a great candidate for a pet stroller or going for rides in a safety-equipped wagon. Charlie does need to be an only dog. He can't be "walked" near other dogs. He doesn't like other dogs, they scare him, and he'll just bark at them non-stop. He'll be happy just staying home with his person and living a loved life.
He is vaccinated and *housebroken*
His current foster wrote this beautiful introduction from Charlie's perspective:
"My name is Charlie.
I am the sweetest, most loving boy who just wants all the belly rubs from as many humans as possible. I have a constant smile on my face and you would never know that I was dumped all alone by my original owners. I am relatively low energy because I have bad legs and can't walk very far. I'm the perfect dog if you are looking for a lifelong couch potato buddy. I am not the perfect dog for you if you want to go on lots of walks. Despite this, I love being outside and can't wait until I have my own yard to shuffle around in. I like to play tug of war or sniff out my squeaky toys... I just can't play fetch!
I love all humans (although I haven't been around children yet) but I get panicky and defensive with other dogs. I'd prefer to be the only dog in the world. I am house-trained, know basic commands and not particularly food driven. Although I would love to be stroked all day long, I am not demanding and can tell when you are busy. I'll just want to sit by your side.
Looking for a loving furever home to call my own."

If you're a Special-Human, CharliePotato is a love.
