Bowie came into our rescue from Alabama in mid March from a neglectful situation. We are so grateful that he has adjusted beautifully in our foster and is ready to find his forever family - will it be with you?
Bowie 🎶wants to be where the people are🎶! He hangs out in the living room and will settle on his dog bed right at your feet. He just enjoys being near you and will be very content to rest. If you cuddle with him, he will lean into you and show you affection in return. He currently sleeps in a guest room at night on his doggy bed, and sleeps easily with no issues or anxiety. He will likely want to
snuggle up and sleep with you if you would be comfortable with that, but he tolerates being on his own if that is your preference.
Bowie is
SUPER trainable, and has a lot of potential when it comes to learning commands. When is comes to crate training, his previous foster was fine with the crate, but the current foster says he was not so happy with it, so he will need to be trained if this is something you want to do. He is fine with free roaming because he doesn't chew or have any accidents in the house.
His completely house-broken, and is doing great with going out on 2 nice 30 minute walks every day - plus some potty breaks in between. On leash, Bowie is strong and pulls a bit, and would benefit from some leash training. He is VERY outgoing and wants to say hello to every person or pup he comes across! So social and friendly!! Bowie is prey driven, as he gets very excited about small animals while out on a walk or in the yard. He loves the chase!
Bowie is very food motivated and is fed just under 2 cups of dry kibble twice a day. His foster added a little water to slow him down, and he would likely benefit from a slow feeder. He will sit like a little gentleman while waiting to be fed, but will need to learn how to wait before he starts eating. He is pretty quiet overall, except when he hears the kibble hit the bowl! However, he does not resource guard at all.
This man is such a playful pup! When you have his toy and he knows you are going to throw it, he will get a wide-eyed goofy look on his face while he gears up for you to throw it. What a ham! His favorite toy is a little stuffy. He walks around with it in his mouth when he is feeling c a l m and happy. He will also happily play fetch with the stuffy, but hasn't quite figured out how to do it with the ball. He is a chewy bone lover, but the best for him is a Nyla bone. He does get some brief zoomies too when he is playing, but will settle and be content shortly there after.
Are you ready to give Bowie the love-ever-lasting that he deserves?
