I've found my furever family!

GORGEOUS Aphrodite came to us from a shelter in AL, where she had been surrendered by a breeder.  We brought her North for a better shot at a forever home.  (We think her name was inspired by the little heart shaped spot on her tush ;))

Aphrodite is as sweet and affectionate as she is beautiful and unique.  She loves to be with people, and is a social girl.  Her favorite place to be is sitting next to her foster mom with her big head in her lap.  She's pretty mellow and calm inside, but runs around and loves to play outside.  She is not too interested in toys right now, but likes Kong's with peanut butter (of course!)  She's very food motivated which is helpful in her training, and has NO food or toy aggression.  Generally, she doesn't bark and when a stranger comes over she will greet them by just walking up and sniffing.  She does NOT  jump up (unless you indicate you want her to.) 

Aphrodite is good with all sized dogs, and her foster siblings have helped her learn the ropes.  Although hard of hearing (she can hear yelling or a loud whistle), she is doing very well training with hand signs, and you can get her attention by stamping your foot.  Today alone she has learned Sit and Wait!  She's very entertaining too - she has no idea how big she is, and thinks she can fit anywhere - check out the picture where she tried to enter the house thru the cat door....she's so funny!  She's fine once in the car, but not thrilled about going in - she just needs positive associations with the car and she'll be good.  She's also good on a leash and doesn't pull.

Aphrodite is not an overly confident dog just yet - she tends to be submissive but doesn't cower.  A forever home with other dogs would be terrific, but she needs people with time, as she is a people bonder and loves everyone!  Come meet her - the pictures don't do those blue eyes justice!
