Henry came to us recently from a negligent shelter in the South that is being shut down. But Henry's not letting that experience get him down! He's a tail-wagger who approaches everyone with a wag and a smile - he's made himself the official greeter! At only 3 months and about 30 lbs, he is one of the mellowest puppies we've seen - really a dream personality. He loves to explore and check everything out, but has no aggression, hardly barks and has a lovely, calm demeanor. Foster was at an empty dog park when we spoke, and she said he explored and sniffed, and then came back to lay at her feet, ignoring the pigeons. WHAT A GOOD BOY!!! But he does well with other dogs on a case by case, and loves to play with them, when they do show up...;)

Because he was caged so much, Henry is really starting from scratch, but he is learning new things every day, and is anxious to please. At 3 months he is understandably not yet housebroken, but learning to be crated and not pee (we think he was crated so much before he couldn't have possibly held it in).

Henry is a VERY gentle pup, and is doing wonderfully on a leash - he stays close to foster or checks back with her regularly. He's good with other dogs on a leash too, always making new friends. He's great in the car as well. He's getting his voice now, but appropriately, when there are loud noises outside. (Foster lives in a city with noises and he mostly doesn't mind.) He's a super snuggly boy, sweet and gentle. When he's not exploring, he just wants to be with you. When people come, he barks and is very interested and will check you out. He seems to love everyone.

Henry needs someone with time who can train him with gentle patience and kindness, but will fit in beautifully in almost any household - from an active senior to a family with kids who understand boundaries. He's a fantastic puppy - exceptional in his calm personality, and is ready for his forever family.
